What You'll Learn

  • How to book me for a keynote, workshop, or wellness event

My Path to Becoming a Dietitian Speaker

I didn't set out to become a speaker. I set out to help people eat in a way that actually fits their life, and that work led me here.

I trained in a science-heavy dietetics program at Missouri State, and I'll admit it: I was a mediocre student in organic chemistry and a great one in motivational interviewing. That told me something. My strength was never going to be reciting the Krebs cycle. It was going to be sitting across from a real person and figuring out what would actually work for them.

That instinct took me into a hospital system in Orlando, then into private practice, where I've now spent 8+ years and worked with 850+ clients one-on-one. Somewhere in there, I started saying yes to speaking gigs, first for free, then for coffee money, then for real rates. I wrote a book, How to Eat Like a Normal Person. I gave a TEDx talk. I signed with a speaking agent. And I built Nutrition Awareness alongside my business partner into a practice that's now a fixture in our community.

None of that happened on a straight line. It happened because I kept saying yes, kept showing up, and kept treating speaking like a craft to train, not a side hustle to fit in when I had time.

Why I Believe Nutrition Is a Performance Strategy, Not a Diet

Most nutrition talks are built around what to eat. Mine are built around what you're trying to get out of your day.

When I work with clients and when I speak to audiences, the real question is never "is this food good or bad." It's "what do you need more of: energy, focus, patience, resilience, and how does food actually move that needle." That reframe matters most for two groups I speak to constantly: women navigating demanding careers and full home lives, and teams inside companies who are stretched thin and running on fumes.

Food isn't the reward at the end of a hard day or the thing you white-knuckle through a diet plan to control. It's infrastructure. Get it right and everything else, focus, mood, stamina, the ability to show up for your family after a 10-hour day, gets easier.

What I Speak On

I speak on nutrition as a lever for a bigger, fuller life, not a smaller body. My talks and workshops fall into three areas:

Using nutrition to fuel a successful life and career. How to eat in a way that supports energy and clarity across a demanding week, not just at the dinner table. This is the talk for women's wellness events, ERGs, and any audience trying to do it all without running on empty.

Optimizing performance at work. How nutrition, hydration, and simple daily strategy affect focus, productivity, and decision-making on the job. This is the talk HR teams and leadership bring me in for when they want something more useful than a generic "eat your veggies" wellness session.

Reducing burnout. Practical, evidence-based nutrition strategies that support stress resilience and recovery, built for people who don't have an extra hour in the day to implement them. This is where I get the most feedback, because burnout is universal and most wellness content doesn't touch it honestly.

What Makes My Talks Different

Before I ever build a keynote, I ask a lot of questions. What does this audience actually care about? Is this a room of caregivers running on no sleep, or executives worried about the cost of employee health? Are they blue collar or white collar, virtual or in person? The science I bring stays the same. How I position it changes completely, because a talk that isn't tailored to the room is a talk that doesn't land, no matter how accurate it is.

I also don't do AI-generated fluff, on stage or off. My content, my talks, and my writing come from real client work and real conversations, not a prompt.

Book Me for Your Event

I speak at women's wellness events, corporate wellness programs, and leadership offsites on using nutrition to fuel performance, energy, and resilience, not restriction. If you're looking for a dietitian speaker who brings real strategy instead of generic wellness talk, I'd love to hear about your event.

FAQ

What does a dietitian speaker actually talk about at a corporate event? I talk about how nutrition, supplements, and daily habits affect focus, energy, and performance at work, not weight loss or generic "eat healthier" advice. Talks are built around what the specific audience is trying to solve, whether that's burnout, stress resilience, or sustaining energy through demanding roles.

Who is a good keynote speaker for a women's wellness event? Look for a speaker with real clinical experience, not just content-creator experience. I'm a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN, LD) with 8+ years in private practice, 850+ clients, a published book, and a TEDx talk, and I specialize in speaking to professionals balancing demanding careers and full home lives.

Can nutrition really help with workplace burnout? Yes. Burnout isn't only a mindset issue, it has a physical component tied to blood sugar stability, hydration, and how consistently the body is fueled through the day. I speak on practical, low-effort nutrition strategies that support stress resilience and recovery for people with no extra time to spare.

What topics does Kait Richardson speak on? Three core areas: using nutrition to fuel a purpose-driven life, optimizing performance at work, and reducing burnout. All three are built around real-life application rather than restrictive dieting.
